My name is Petr, I’m 32 years old, and I live in the wonderful city of Oskemen, known for its metallurgical heritage. In the past, I worked as a metallurgist, but now I lead the educational center Makerspace Oskemen, created with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan and Chevron. My calling is to provide people with the opportunity to learn technology and build the future. The Rocket Girls project is my pride and dearest creation. I sincerely believe that young women should have equal opportunities to master STEM and bring us closer to the stars. And I hope that one day, one of our graduates will be the first to witness the distant planets and the mysterious stars that gaze down on us from the skies.

What Inspired You to Make This?

What inspired me to create Rocket Girls was recognizing the immense potential in expanding opportunities for girls in technology and engineering. I noticed that often girls don’t receive equal access to STEM education and are undervalued in these fields. I wanted to create a program that not only provides skills and knowledge but also inspires women to reach high goals. I believe that offering these opportunities will help young people realize their dreams and bring us closer to a future where everyone can contribute to science and technology.
